I have an owy
I woke up this morning with a headache, and this seemingly innocent symptom has really shown me how my life, since med school, has completely changed (and will most likely not return to the way it was).
See before medical school, when waking up with a headache, I would have went through this sort of process: “ugh I have a headache. Need painkillers. I hate waking up with headaches, it’s stupid”.
Now this morning, this is the kind of internal monologue I had going: “ugh I have a headache. Why did I wake up with a headache? There are a number of pathological reasons why one would have a waking headache, do I fit any of criteria? Ok, Renee, you’re mental, no you don’t have a subdural hemorrhage, it’s just a headache… But… if i do go through this list it’ll be good study…” <10 minutes goes by, and now sitting in front of my computer with school stuff in front of me> “shit I forgot to take something for my headache!”.
Just thought I would share that little gem with you guys
So did the headache go away by itself.
It ended up being a migraine… I went back to bed at 9:30 and woke up at 11:30, and I was much better.
This knowing stuff about everything doctor business sounds dangerous! lol
I would always be analyzing everything I was feeling lol
